After attending the 2009 Arizona Aloha Festival in Tempe AZ, we could see that it would be appropriate to provide coverage for this event on our website, so here it is.  With time, we'll add photos and videos from previous years also, but at this moment, the 2009 event provides plenty of material.

The Program.  Just before the start of the 2009 Arizona Aloha Festival, with the help of one of the booth owners, Deborah (see below), we  managed to obtain a copy of the program, and since this information was not available on the official website, we included it here.  There is so much history included, along with recognition of volunteers, advertisements by local Hawaii oriented businesses, and so forth that it seems reasonable to leave it here for any who might find this information useful.  If you'd like to have a copy of the program as a PDF file, we've provided a copy in that form also (here's the link).

Below, you'll see a thank-you for Rubber Stamp Plantation (Deborah's business), along with some pictures of the Festival as it was going together the day before the event.  Since these were taken before the crowds arrived (the next day) it helps you to appreciate what a great location the Arizona Festival  has now obtained.  Later, we'll add pictures taken during the event itself, but our first priority is to give you some video coverage.  That will start with a "quality sampler" below, so you can have an idea of the additional benefits of downloading the high definition videos vs. the standard video quality.

One tip on the videos!  If you think you'll want to see them more than once, download the files to your hard drive, instead of just 'opening .  There's no difference in how much time it takes.  They require Windows Media Player, which most computers have, but it doesn't hurt to mention that just in case you haven't installed one yet.  They're free, from the Microsoft site, in case you don't presently have it.

Video Sampler!

Oh, this is important!  The "video" samples were

taken about 15 minutes before the opening

ceremonies began.  People were still getting seated.

Later in the day, all the space you see behind the

chairs was jammed with people sitting on the grass.

There was barely enough room to walk between them.

This event seems to have been a fantastic success,

and will probably be even more well attended next year.

Wow!

Now, on to 'Actual Videos'

One more comment at this time (the day after the Festival ended).  All of the

pictures you see below were taken the day before the Aloha Festival started.

When we add pictures taken during the Festival, they'll be further down, and

you'll see what a huge crowd turned out for this "new beginning" for the 2009

Arizona Aloha Festival in Tempe.  At this time, all you'll see below are Videos!

Actual Videos

Here are some actual videos from the 2009 Arizona Aloha Festival.  You'll see a brief description on the left, and then four options on the right.  (1) Standard Video, short clip; (2) High Definition Video, short clip; (3) Standard Video, full clip; (4) High Definition Video, full clip.  The standard video short clip will give you a very brief sample with a short download time, while the full clip at high definition will take a lot longer to load.  If you like the shortest sample enough to watch the whole clip, you'll probably want to jump straight to high definition for that.  We'll show you the actual size of the download in megabytes (mb).

As mentioned above, if you want to watch these more than once, it makes more sense to "save" them to your hard drive rather than just "open" them.  That way, you'll only have to download them once.  The short clips at standard definition will download quickly, so perhaps for a quick glance you'd prefer to just "open" them, but the full clips at high definition are far larger.  Anyway, enjoy, and mahalo nui loa (thank you very much) for joining us in this adventure of revisiting the 2009 Arizona Aloha Festival!

(Software you need to have installed:  Windows Media Player)

According to the program, this is the Le Taupou Manaia dance group from Lake Forest, CA, featuring Korina Lee Seiuli.  Suggest you watch the 29 mb high definition short clip, after which we believe you'll find downloading the full clip at high definition irresistible.  Enjoy!   Standard Video (short clip) 3 mb
High Definition (short clip) 29 mb
Standard Video (full clip) 42 mb
High Definition (full clip) 387 mb

Image Quality Sample

Below, as an illustration of the level of quality you'll find on line for Linda's paintings in our galleries at Imagekind and Zenfolio, we've included a link to a full-scale (100%) photo of the main stage at the 2009 Arizona Aloha Festival, the day before the event.  It's 4272 pixels wide, taken without a tripod, and you'll have to scroll down and across to the right to explore it.  If this image were turned into a framed print 4-5 feet wide and displayed on a wall, you'd have to be pretty close to see limitations in detail.  To see the full resolution picture, click on the small size (900 pixel wide) image below:
